Plenary meeting November 2025
28.11.2025
Opening and introduction on artificial intelligence
Koen HERMANS welcomes the members of the CEG. He discusses the major current issues and presents the theme of this second session of the year: artificial intelligence, notably through the signing of a dedicated charter.
He reviews the agenda:
- Question and answer session with Thomas BUBERL, Chief Executive Officer of the Group, and Karima SILVENT, Deputy Secretary General of the Group.
- Presentations on the integration of AI into AXA's business, illustrated by:
- The AXA Digital Commercial Platform and its ‘Predict and Prevent’ offering,
- The AI approach focused on employees and business lines
Tribute to Claude BEBEAR
Thomas BUBERL, Koen HERMANS and Pascale RAULINE pay tribute to Claude BEBEAR, founder of the Group and the CEG. They praise his vision and audacity, which enabled him to transform a small mutual insurance company in Normandy into a major international group. They highlight his humanity and his ability to introduce concepts such as social dialogue and social innovation, which have now become standards within the Group. His legacy lives on in the rich exchanges with representatives of social dialogue.
Speech by Thomas Buberl, Strategic context and outlook for the AXA Group
Thomas BUBERL highlights the global instability in which AXA operates. To address these threats, the Group's strategy is based on risk diversification, identifying two opportunities: on the one hand, social inclusion with a particular focus on prevention and AI; on the other, supporting governments that could collaborate with private insurers on health, retirement and long-term care.
He highlights the Group's solid growth at mid-year (+7% GWP) and the strength of its balance sheet, with a solvency ratio of 222% at 30 September, enabling it to withstand potential shocks.
The implementation of the ‘Unlock the Future’ plan has been extended for an additional year. The next plan, based on organic growth, targets revenue of €120 billion, compared with €100 billion at launch.
Growth is based on three levers:
- retention (particularly cross-selling from the outset of the customer relationship),
- technical excellence (particularly in the Life and Health areas),
- and competitiveness, especially in life insurance, with adjustments to the portfolio and costs.
This plan also entails changes in the teams:
- The achievements of Frédéric DE COURTOIS, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Alexander VOLLERT, Chief Operating Officer, are recognised for their strategic and operational contributions.
- Karima SILVENT becomes Deputy General Secretary, with an expanded scope of responsibilities.
- Guillaume BORIE is appointed Chief Financial Officer, Strategy, Underwriting, Risk and Technology, after six years at the helm of AXA France.
- Matthieu GODARD succeeds him as Chief Executive Officer of AXA France.
- Matthieu CAILLAT is appointed Chief Technology Officer, Artificial Intelligence and Chief Executive Officer of AXA GO.
AXA's social commitment is demonstrated through the AXA Fund for Human Progress, which has been endowed with a significant amount of money. In a context of political uncertainty, the Group wishes to demonstrate its convictions in the areas of sport, the environment and culture.
Thomas BUBERL concluded by thanking the members of the CEG for the quality of the discussions, which promote mutual understanding and enable employees to better understand management decisions.
Remarks by Pascale RAULINE
Pascale RAULINE thanked Thomas BUBERL for his insights into the Group's situation, which continues to be healthy. She considers this to be good news for employment and for employees. She referred to last June's plenary meeting, when the Chief Executive Officer asked CEG members for their feedback on the strategic plan in the spirit of Claude Bébéar's social innovation. She also mentioned last September's AXA Partners network meeting, which took place in a positive atmosphere.
She noted that social dialogue at AXA remains satisfactory overall, even if certain topics, such as teleworking, still give rise to sometimes more difficult discussions, particularly during coordination meetings. It is essential to find the right balance on this issue. Finally, she emphasised that recent announcements concerning AXA GO have caused concern among some employees.
Signing of the charter on artificial intelligence
Thomas BUBERL and Pascale RAULINE jointly sign a charter on the conduct of European social dialogue in the context of the development of artificial intelligence within the AXA Group. This charter formalises the Group's commitment to the social dialogue committee, emphasising employee training for the safe, ethical and sustainable use of AI.
Koen HERMANS undertakes to keep the CEG informed of developments in AI on a half-yearly basis. Thomas BUBERL emphasises the need to make the integration of employees into the world of AI attractive, gathering concrete suggestions to meet this challenge.

Presentation of the AXA Digital Commercial Platform
Pierre du ROSTU presents the AXA DCP offering, structured around four pillars:
- Data & Analytics,
- Consulting,
- Risk Academy
- and Marketplace.
He demonstrates the platform, showing how it enables customers to locate their risks and assets, value their portfolio, identify preventive actions, and access practical advice. Four risk scores will be available: natural disasters, environment, geopolitics and climate.
The offering provides three service levels (Essential, Superior and Premium), incorporating services from partners such as AXA Climate and AXA XL. The platform is already used by around 100 major customers, facilitating feedback and improvement. In the future, it could also be used by AXA employees, particularly in claims management.
AI approach focused on employees and business lines
AXA takes an ethical approach to keep people at the centre of its decisions.
Karima SILVENT points out that this transformation is as much human as it is organisational, involving the sharing of initiatives and proactive strategic analysis through workforce planning.
Olga KRAVCHENKO presents preliminary thoughts on strategic workforce planning in the age of AI, emphasising the challenges related to data dependency, the regulatory framework and confidentiality.
Current initiatives focus on five areas:
- awareness-raising via SecureGPT,
- training and upskilling,
- improving data governance,
- creating a community of AI ambassadors,
- and strengthening social dialogue.
According to a Pulse study, nearly 70% of employees say they are optimistic about AI.
Olga KRAVCHENKO also discusses the potential impact of AI on workforce planning, which could lead to the creation of new jobs or the disappearance of certain professions, particularly in call centres, claims management and IT.
She wishes to share these thoughts with as many people as possible in order to fuel social dialogue and exchange ideas with delegates and management in the coming months. She is seeking ideas for optimising the AI journey, addressing skills development, work organisation, the role of managers, and ethical and regulatory considerations.
Conclusion of the session
Pascale RAULINE emphasised that this session and the signing of the charter do not mark the end of the work on artificial intelligence, but rather pave the way for further discussions during the next term of office.
She thanked all the members of the CEG, and in particular those of the secretariat, for their work throughout the term of office, especially on the high-stakes issues of the last two years.
Koen HERMANS welcomed the richness of the exchanges during this plenary session, while noting that much remains to be done. He welcomed the signing of the joint charter on artificial intelligence, which sets out clear commitments.
